We all know that the early identification of reading difficulties can transform a child’s whole educational experience. However, the complexity of reading is often underestimated, and specific difficulties are not always easy to spot.
Even the most experienced teacher may frequently find themselves challenged when it comes to identifying and supporting the many children in their classes who encounter different and cognitively very diverse difficulties when learning to read.
“Current reading assessments are simply not good enough. When we look at a standard test score in isolation, it tells us a child can’t read. It doesn’t tell us why that child can’t read. Lexplore gives us much more than a simple score or percentile.“
Bernadette McLean – Former Principal of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre
We have developed the first fully objective reading assessment, which by combining the latest in AI and eye tracking technology, can analyse a child’s skills across key reading components, determine their attainment, and highlight specific difficulties in a matter of minutes.
With immediate, objective and in-depth results, teachers can then determine which students require extra support much earlier in their education and help all pupils develop a lifelong love of reading.
“With Lexplore we can assess children without adding to the workload of class teachers, with the intention of also providing effective interventions again without creating unnecessary admin.“

Our unique technology recently featured on BBC Evening News ( watch the feature here ) where Freemantle Community Academy in Southampton discussed how our assessment has revolutionised their view of reading in school, enabling teachers to see within five minutes if children are having trouble with certain words or letters.
